Prime Minister's Housing Scheme Grameen New Update The Prime Minister's Housing Scheme-Grameen (PMAYG) has been approved by the Union Cabinet with a proposal to extend it till March 2024. In other words, the poor people of the villages who have not yet got a house in PM Awas Yojana, they will all get a house by March 2024.

Details of Cabinet Approved Proposals:
The duration of PMAY-G project will be extended till March 2024. As a result, it will be possible to meet the target of 2 crore 95 lakh houses.
The remaining 1 crore 55 lakh 75 thousand houses will be constructed at a cost of Tk 2,16,256 crore. Of this, the Center will provide Tk 1,25,108 crore. The states will spend Rs 63,465 crore on the project. As a result, the target of constructing 29.5 million houses in rural areas under PMAY-G project will be met. The project will have to repay a loan of Tk 16.7 crore to NABARD.
The decision on all types of Budget Assistance (GBS) for financing the entire project will be taken after discussions with the Ministry of Finance by revoking the External Bench Mark Based (EBR) rate.
An additional Rs 45 lakh will be provided by the Center for administrative funds in that project. With the exception of Assam and Tripura, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Goa, Punjab, Uttarakhand, the northeastern states and all the Union Territories except Jammu and Kashmir will each receive 0.3 per cent of the 2 per cent of the administrative funds. For Assam, Tripura and Jammu and Kashmir, the figure is 1.6 per cent.
All kinds of support will be maintained till 2023-24 for the implementation of the program and National Technology Assistance Agency.
Advantages:
The project deadline will be extended till March 2024 to complete the construction of the remaining 15.55 million houses as per the plan for construction of 29.5 million houses in PMAOI-G project. As a result, it will be possible to provide housing for all in rural areas. Pucca houses with all facilities will be constructed in the village.
As per the information received
till November 29, the construction work of 1 crore 75 lakh houses has
already been completed. By August 2022, another 36 lakh houses will be
built. The rest of the house construction work will be completed by
March 2024.
